Mantus armchair
This armchair with bold personality is one of Fernanda’s favourite pieces. The inspiration came from researching South American civilizations of the pre-Columbian period: Aztecs, Incas, Mayans, and Moches. The richness of body ornamentation and the exoticism of clothing and accessories were also taken as inspiration for designing the armchair. The round leather, covered and moulded fibreglass shell provides a cosy feeling and ensures comfort. The leather, laser cut covering represents the decorative cloaks of that period, giving a mystical touch reinterpreted with contemporary flair. The curved wooden structure was produced in cold press.
This piece of furniture was exhibited in Design Junction during 2014's London Design Festival. Manufactured by Schuster Móveis & Design.
